Why a 15 minute stretching timer works
- 30 to 60 seconds per position
- Breathe out into the stretch
- Both sides, every time
Twelve to fifteen holds of thirty to sixty seconds covers the whole body. Both sides get the same time, which is the instruction people quietly skip.
How to spend the fifteen minutes
| Minute | What to do |
|---|---|
| 0-2 | Move gently before holding anything |
| 2-13 | Twelve holds, 45 seconds each, both sides |
| 13-15 | Finish with the tightest one again |

Questions people ask
How long should each stretch be held?
Thirty to sixty seconds per position is the usual guidance for a lasting change in range. Fifteen minutes covers a full-body routine of twelve to fifteen holds.
Can I hear the alarm over music?
The default alarm is a repeating triple tone chosen to carry. On phones, keeping the tab visible makes it more reliable.
Do I need equipment for the 15 minute stretching timer?
No. Everything in the plan above works with bodyweight and a patch of floor. Add kit if you have it, but the session should not depend on it.
